IA SHOOTING RULES
We have a rule for Shooting at IA. Due to the Dropbox system being synced across all offices and the need for everyone to have access to all projects & assets at all times, we need to limit how much data we shoot depending on the budgets of each job.
BUDGET / 100 = TOTAL GB ALLOWED TO SHOOT (up to 20k)
$5,000 = 50GB
$10,000 = 100GB
$20,000 = 200GB
Over $20,000 = As much as required within reason, and clear effort made to not over complicate or over shoot for the sake of it
There are no exceptions to this. If the project requires a higher end camera or higher bitrate, the producer must extract additional budget to allow for the additional data captured. Before every shoot, it’s the producer and director’s responsibility to ensure that the DOP and camera used will adhere to these GB guidelines. This means shooting on lower end DSLR type cameras with lower bitrates for lower budget jobs. NO PROXIES. Everything gets put on Dropbox in it’s original format as long as the above is adhered to.
